Yogi Adityanath’s strong condemnation of the allegations did not stop with calling the reports misinformation. He took it a step further, categorizing the claims as part of a wider conspiracy to malign the Maha Kumbh Mela. The CM suggested that the reports were intentionally designed to discredit one of India’s most iconic and revered religious events. According to Adityanath, certain groups or individuals were spreading these false claims in an effort to create distrust among the public and disrupt the peaceful and harmonious atmosphere of the Kumbh.

In his address, Yogi also clarified the procedures involved in monitoring water quality at the Sangam. He pointed out that authorities from the state’s Pollution Control Board, along with the Central Government’s Ministry of Environment, were constantly testing the water to ensure its safety for the pilgrims. Furthermore, he mentioned that the Kumbh Mela’s administrative body had enlisted the help of environmental scientists and health experts, all of whom were tasked with ensuring that the sacred waters remained clean and untainted.

Yogi Adityanath’s tone remained assertive as he dismissed these claims as politically motivated. “The Kumbh Mela is an event of immense cultural and spiritual importance. We cannot allow any misinformation to diminish its significance,” he said, reaffirming the government’s stance on the purity of the Sangam waters.
