The workers were in the midst of road construction activities when the avalanche hit. The area has a history of heavy snowfalls, but the magnitude of this particular avalanche was unexpected. With the area being difficult to access, the rescue teams are facing several challenges in their efforts.

The NDRF has been coordinating closely with the Indian Army and local authorities to ensure that all possible means are being utilized in the search. Teams have been working non-stop, and aerial reconnaissance is helping them cover more ground.

While the efforts have been fruitful so far, there are concerns over the increasing dangers posed by the unstable snow and the possibility of further avalanches in the coming days.
