BRAVE Yordenis Ugas has revealed he couldn’t open his eye for 40 HOURS after losing his brutal welterweight bout with Eroll Spence Jr.
And now Ugas, 35, has taken to Instagram to update his 250,000 followers on his gruesome injury.
The former WBA champ posted a picture taken soon after the fight, showing his horribly swollen right eye.
He revealed his eye was closed for nearly TWO DAYS after the bout, and he was suffering “tears of blood”.
He said: “Thanks to everyone who is sending in their prayers. My eye was like this closed and bleeding for almost 40 hours, it looked like tears of blood, but now it is open.
“In the next few days, with God’s favour, when the swelling and bruising are at zero, we will go back to the doctor, to know exactly the next step.
“I think I was in a competitive fight until the 7th.
“I fought three more rounds with my eye like this, I am a warrior, I am a champion and no matter the pain, no matter how hard Spence hit me, I would never, ever give up. Thank you all.”
Ugas confirmed soon after the fight that he had suffered a fracture to his orbital bone.
