DEAR DEIDRE: IF he bothers the girl behind the till again, my husband is going to get banned from our local shop.
This girl told me he pesters her for her phone number and said she will complain if it happens again.
She’s not the only one.
When someone catches my husband’s eye, he always tells them he wishes he was young again.
I feel humiliated and ashamed of his actions.
He’s 75 and I’m 73. When I confronted him, he said it’s all nonsense.

I feel repulsed when I look at him now.
This isn’t a new phase, either. An old friend I hadn’t seen for ages recently asked my husband if he was “still chasing it”.

DEIDRE SAYS: Everyone likes to look at attractive people but doing it so brazenly in front of you and making suggestive comments is disrespectful.
Your husband needs to learn to be more considerate and respectful.
His behaviour could land him in hot water and it wouldn’t hurt to tell him it could be construed as sexual harassment.
If it happens again, say something like: “I find you looking at younger women hurtful and upsetting. Please stop doing it.”
