Haaland jets to French Riviera for Raiola talks as he closes in on City move

ERLING HAALAND jetted to Monaco on Sunday to meet with agent Mino Raiola, according to reports.

The striker is expected to join Manchester City this summer after it was claimed that he agreed a £500,000-a-week contract with Pep Guardiola’s side.

With City set to trigger his £64million release clause, Haaland is believed to have flown out to the French Riviera for talks with agent Raiola, who lives in the Principality.

He is claimed to have attended a brief session with Dortmund on Sunday morning before jetting out to see Raiola.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, the purpose of the meeting was to finish finalising Haaland’s future.

April 30 is reportedly the deadline to activate his release clause, as they are expected to do.

Haaland’s move to City could even be announced in the next week.

The Premier League leaders are set to win a hotly-contested race for his signature ahead of the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

He could still join the former in future, however, with The Times claiming that City told him he could go to Madrid in his next move.

Haaland’s £500k-a-week contract is set to make him the highest earner at City, eclipsing Kevin De Bruyne’s £385k weekly package.

The forward has enjoyed another goal-laden campaign at Dortmund, netting 25 times in 27 appearances this term.

Overall he has bagged 82 in 86 outings for the Bundesliga side, also laying on 23 assists.

Haaland will follow in the footsteps of his father Alf-Inge, who made 45 appearances for City between 2000 and 2003.

Erling is quite partial to a trip to Monaco.

Last May he took a private jet to the Principality to watch the Monaco Grand Prix from a yacht.
