TRIPS out with the family can cost a small fortune.

But luckily today marks the launch of another of our great Sun Superdays, where you can get two FREE tickets to the Legoland Windsor Resort, worth more than £120.

And that’s not the only way you can save on family outings.

GET THE GROUP TOGETHER: The more of you going, the more likely the saving.

Search for GroupSave train travel, which takes roughly a third off the cost of booking as a group for rail trips — there’s usually a top saving to be had.

Plus inviting an extra pair of adult hands to help out is always useful!

STOCK UP ON SNACKS: Stopping at service stations en route to your big day out can mean spending big on sweets and treats for the kids.

Instead, create a lunch box for each little one filled with yummy journey snacks.

Keep it cheap by chopping fruit into portions and popping it into sandwich bags and split own-brand packets of biscuits into tubs.

MAKE THE MOST OF MEAL DEALS: For example, if heading to Legoland Windsor Resort, check out legoland.co.uk before your trip and you can get a Coca-Cola Freestyle Vessel drinks cup for £9, which entitles you to unlimited free soft drinks all day.

Bring it back on your next trip and recharge it for £6.

ACE THE ACTIVITIES: It’s inevitable that boredom will set in during a long car journey.

Activity packs should keep the children happy and you can pick up some cheap ones at The Works.

The Cocomelon activity pack is just £6 (RRP £9.99) while a top-secret weapon for parents is the EFull car seat back storage — just £9.99 at amazon.co.uk

Hang it over the back of your front seats and you can add water bottles and pens, and there’s even room for a tablet.

PLAN YOUR PARKING: The steep cost of parking can eat into your costs, so always check when booking tickets to see if there’s an advance saving to be made.

Often it means you will end up parked closer to the venue.

And don’t miss the special pullout inside today’s Sun, which includes everything you need to know for your Superday at Legoland Windsor Resort.
